I got some nice photos 5555
I went to Tiger Kingdom in CM on my first visit North, the TGF at the time convinced me to go. I would not do it again, they looked dugged up to me.
Perhaps this one had missed his medication?

Exactly... sad way to treat the tigers... and always a risk one will wake up... or not have the right dose...

The thing is that I do see the other side of it too.. Left in the Wild they would either be extinct or close to.. As much as I dislike places like that, they do ensure the survival of a magnificent species..... And the whole photo thing generates cash to run what must be very expensive operations...

Sadly I see rhino's going the same way..... Only to be found in guarded parks.

I don't like zoos... safari parks are probably the best of a bad bunch. At least somewhere that has some semblance of freedom (oops!). But drugging up animals to raise cash just seems wrong...

Australian Tourist mauled by Tiger in Phuket zoo

Read a ridiculous story in PG (I think) that claimed the tiger reacted due to the 'kind loving' nature of their relationship with the keepers and it clawed the tourist as a way of protecting the keeper.

More like the tiger hadn't been drugged enough.

A few years ago I did several trips to the tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai, got close with a medium size cat and new born cub. Also done the crocodile kissing thing. Looking back I don't think id do that again. I put it down to the 1st time buzz.

Didn't something similar happen in Kanchanaburi a few years ago?

Having someone as STUPID as that free to roam our streets is a danger to the public IMO

One of the annual highlights in the small country town that I grew up in was when a Circus came to town ... in those days they had lions and the lion taming ...usually the first part of the show ... the old whip and a chair stuff ... they might have even had camels and a zebra or two ... and the shows grand finale was always the elephants.... balancing on one leg, standing up straight on two ....

Looking back it would have been a rotten life for those animals and I am glad that those type of Circus are gone now ....

.... but I can't help wondering if meeting those animals like that engendered in our generation the feelings that we have now ... the desire to see them preserved and protected ... and that future generations won't get to see them in the flesh like that and may not give a damn about something they never had a chance to meet up close ....

    Enjoy...

Sydney I think you misunderstand. He had paid to go in the cage with the handler and have photo's taken, as people do everyday. It is part of the deluxe tour.

He didn't just jump the fence out of the blue.
