It must be the lens , but Pic 1 above , the grey place , well the lower walls look out of 90 degrees ...

Never before seen a distortion like that in digi-pics ... maybe young Rivo used one of those bendy-phone-cameras? 555

A nice design except for the turret with windows which serves no apparent purpose.
    Cheers, Rob.

Maybe the lower columns have a thicker top than bottom , so they look outta wak ? But this 'look' makes me uncomfortable ...

The 'turret' Ive seen before in other hot countries - its supposed to draw and disperse hot air out of the roof space if its louvered -which it appears to be.

The table legs seem to follow the lines of the house so likely an optical illusion of some sort?

You're looking at the blue house and the optical illusion in that pic is due to camera parallax error.

The beige house pic is definitely distorted. The lower storey has a greater lean on the right that the left. Even the windows and front door are out of square .... the worst Thai builders couldn't produce that degree of imperfection.

Dean, the turret has closed 'window' sections not louvres - similar to another house near us ... can't see the point as no hot air will escape. Open the 'image in new tab' with right click and zoom the photo.
    Cheers, Rob.

Parallax error in this photo indicates your phone camera is causing the distortion noted previously. Digital zoom (if used) in pic #982 may have accentuated the error.

Garden turns a house into a home.

Gawd, I hope they got rid of that mosquito farm in front of the house. 555 Hard to tell from the pic.

After 16 years we are discussing buying land and building a house in Ao's village

Land might be bought this year or whenever we can get a good deal
The house 3-5 years down the line.....depending on how life goes

The thing is I want at least some traditional Thai features in the hosiery and I would want a better quality build than your average house in the village

I don't need or want a huge house but I want a house that I will enjoy

The thing is I would have no idea how to go about finding proper builders/architect and all that

A decent modern build in her village seems to cost around 2-3mil
I would double that for a high quality build

But again don't have a clue how to do any of that!

Man , I take my hat off to any falang who can build exactly what he wants here.
First he'd need a very switched on and vocal wife.
The place is rife with misunderstandings.

A week back I show a glazier I where want a large sliding glass door - and take him to the bathroom to show him the frosted glass I want on the doors...

10 minutes later he smashes the bathroom window !
Bee asks him why , and he says , "Oh your man said he wants me to replace the bath window with this " - and holds up a near identical sheet of 'replacement' glass...
    We are just incredulous ...

Talk with Rob, his builder is good from what I saw, not sure if he works down that way.
