hopefully they don't have one of those shows at the airport where the lady comes in with a bag full of food but doesn't declare it and they go right through it and make a mug of her 55

Rivo, might be a problem if you have to transit in another state before you board for Thailand, especially if it is the hand luggage. There are food disposal bins before you get on domestic planes to chuck out any fruit you have on you before boarding. Also at the other end, the sniffer dogs are now on the lookout for fruit as well as everything else they sniff for.

CJ took 4 kilos of cherries back one time! (not hand luggage) Froze half and the other half unfrozen. Unfrozen got the tick.

I agree - a direct flight should be no problem - you are allowed 10 kgs of food for personal consumption into Thailand.
It's the airlines that may baulk at frozen food not in a styrofoam container.

Great replies, Yes its a direct flight Perth to Bangkok.

Ill pack the fruit in a plastic container and put in her check-in (providing there is room 555) she can argue the point if there is an issue at Bangkok. Last-year when i got 2 x bottles of wine confiscated at the CM airport it was my fault for not paying off the airport staff 55 Ill report back next month on how she went.

I think you should try again Rivo.
Bloody CNX X ray machine. I've never had a problem at BKK.
Happy to help with consumption if you're successful next time 555.

What happens if you get caught with wine other than Duty Free going into Thailand, do they just confiscate it or is it confiscation and a fine and/or tea money.

Getting into NZ, they'd find a seed embedded into the tread on your shoe... and yet you can take a whole crop into some countries.... 55

    Same same OZ.
But surely you understand that both are Islands and relatively plant disease-free - allowing for both to enjoy big premiums for their "Clean & Green" exports.
Imagine if Sum Wun brought a dairy herd parasite into NZ?
What would happen to Fontera who are a huge % of your exports? (and GDP).
I have no issue at all with Customs/Border Control in this area.

Two weeks ago a NZ woman fined NZ$45,000, plus court costs, for illegal import of three eggs. Threat to NZ's biosecurity and poultry industry. $15,000 per egg.

I don't blame NZ at all... just wonder why other countries are less strict... even the UK is pretty soft in comparison...

Yeah, we get heaps of cherries going out on Asia bound flights (in the cardboard boxes is fine).

Strangest thing I saw is Baramundi imported from Malaysia!!! 555
