I'll tell ya......I never had a bad meal in that place.

That's one of the things under-rated about Thailand..... So many good casual farang restaurants

    You are correct there.
Once you try them out , theres always a dish or two these 'unexceptional' farang places excel at for a great price.
The one Nels mentions ( simply labelled Roast Pork ) is 200 with a fresh hot home made bread roll.
Robierre will throw in a glass of French Burgundy for 100 extra for regulars ...
    Good value.

^ The last thing I'd do is be puting my favourite local eateries on mass tourism websites C1 !

Bloody hell , one only has to see the sometimes 60 person ( Korean and Chinese ) line ups to go into No 6 restaurant ( opp C and N Hotel ) on Rat-U-Thit rd in Patong.
All the while pretty much the same thing is available at Deng Restaurant next door to No 6 and its half full.

If the herd mentality wasnt upon us before , it sure is now ....

My first visit to No 6 was in 2010 at the recommendation of BMs
Could just get a seat back then. Now i walk past and look at the herds of people waiting 😯

Im always puzzled by somebody choosing to call their restaurant "Chiang Rai Seafood" ...

I mean could you not pick a Thai cities name that is further from the sea ??

Hardly indicates "Frrreeessshh" , does it ? 555

I like the No.5 or No.6 , can't remember . The one that does Seafood Spaghetti ! It's to die for ! Was Andre (Bills chef mate from Summer Breeze ) that put me onto it many years ago.
