    Missing Backpacker

UPDATE: Swanage backpacker Grace Taylor missing in Thailand (From Bournemouth Echo)

DORSET police have launched an international investigation to locate missing woman Grace Taylor.

Grace, 21, who is from Swanage, is currently backpacking in Thailand but her family became increasingly worried for her welfare after she had not made contact for nearly a week.

Her parents officially reported her as a missing person to Dorset Police at 3.37am on Sunday morning after they had not heard from her since Tuesday.

A spokesman from the force said: "We received a call on Sunday morning reporting a missing woman travelling alone in Thailand.

"The family haven't been able to speak to her since Tuesday, February 16.

"We are now liaising with Interpol and an investigation is underway."

Grace's mum Sam Taylor has posted a Facebook appeal for help finding her daughter which has been shared more than 30,000 times.

On Monday afternoon, Mrs Taylor posted to say Grace contacted them at 11am from Ao Nang, Krabi.

However, during the telephone call Grace was in a very distressed state.

Mrs Taylor posted: "She was very stressed and frightened saying that people were trying to hurt her and were following her and she wanted to come home.

"We calmed her down and booked her a flight from Krabi tonight but she never arrived at the airport by taxi and has gone missing again.

"We are desperately worried, all previous backpacker sightings have reported that she is disorientated and not in a good mental state.

"Please can I reach out to the backpacker community once again to look out for her and get her safe.

"We are flying out tonight to come and bring her home."

If anyone has any information please call Dorset Police on 101.

My sister did. Though she can look after herself better than I can... 55

But she travels everywhere alone... all over India... which I would have thought more risky...

    Late or early 20s?

15 years ago is when I think Thailand started changing attitudes toward the Farangs. Right about the same time flights became very affordable for younger travelers. And the internet started sweeping SEA. It used to be the older divorced mans paradise. The girls were not that wise to the West. And happy to get anything for a nights companionship. It's a totally different scene now. All the poor people can see that there are many very well off people in the world. And that they have been left out of the prosperity of the West. Now they watch 20 year olds spending thousands of dollars and getting wasted all around them. Our Middle Class seems like we are millionaires to them.

I don't know if I'd want my young 20's daughter travelling alone
But I guess it depends on the girl.

I certainly will encourage my stepson to travel all over the world, and would assist in the finances if need be(it will be needed 555)

I'd prefer a young girl go with friends though

    Seen Deadpool?

    IMDB Deadpool quotes

Wade Wilson: I had another Liam Neeson nightmare. I kidnapped his daughter and he just wasn't having it.

[Lies down in bed beside Vanessa]

Wade Wilson: They made three of those movies. At some point you have to wonder if he's just a bad parent

KRABI — The British backpacker reported missing by her mother has been found at Krabi International Airport, police said.

21-year-old Grace Taylor was using a computer at Black Canyon cafe and “blowing a whistle” when police officers recognized her as the missing tourist on Tuesday afternoon, said the commander of the police force that covers Krabi airport.

“There’s nothing serious. We found her,” said Col. Thaksin Pochakorn. “She was sitting alone in the airport, blowing a whistle inside Black Canyon. I think she may have some kind of mental disorder.”

Taylor refused to cooperate with the police or answer their questions, so the officers decided to send her to a tourist help center in Krabi city center, Col. Thaksin told Khaosod English. He added that the backpacker does not appear to have been hurt.
