    Available at grocery stores?

I was wondering if expats might take a look for me next time they are in Lotus or something food shopping

We are going to have a gaggle of kids with us in HH and I will be making them a lot of farang food
    Up
Do grocery stores carry ready made pie crusts?
We have them. They are from Keebler

Also, I would be shocked if they had this in Thailand but it is in the frozen section:

Cool Whip.....it is sort of a very thick whipped cream

    Pic attached

I want to make Paulie's famous Boston Creme Pie for the kids

    Thanks and no rush looking

never seen pie crusts pre-made (in an aluminium foil tin like you can get in the USAand other western countries) but some places have pre-made pastry which you roll out yourself

there is that crazy whipped cream in a can here..and also whipping cream (DYI) and double cream (Makro, Tesco etc) but I haven't seen that brand in your image

Yeah that's the kind of crust I meant.....i can bring that from here and just wrap it up so it doesn't break up
I can't bring the cool whip because it comes frozen and thaws out
But I can make do with other types of whipped cream

Most That's love this pie when I make it and I know the kids will definitely love it.

FYI..... The cool whip is sort of a Bavarian creme or marange type whipping cream

If anyone has suggestions I can get in Thailand let me know

    Thanks

PS.....I used to ask where to find FL, now I am asking where to find whipped cream 555

There exists a tenuous link between the 2^ .... 555

As Baccy says, Makro have 3 types of whipping/whipped cream, also Tops, Villamart and in CM, Yok/Bakers Mart.
    Cheers, Rob.

A thread about whipped cream ... 55555555555 ... who would have thought, and from M26 as well, knock me down with a feather ..55

On the face of it, it seems ridiculous, but cooking warrants this, there is no room for error when you are sticking yourself out there, the pressure is on when you have promised something good !! .55

Bring the pie shells in your carry-on.
I'm always searching for puff pastry to make some party pies for a snack/small meal -no success so far around here.
I would have brought some back from OZ yesterday but every sq.cm was crammed with farm killed lamb, sausages, corned beef, Salada biscuits. cheese. wine and condiments.

^ Makro has puff pastry in the frozen section (at least the one in Lamai does)..its in square slabs so will need to be rolled out...but I have used it in the past for making sausage rolls, bacon and cheese pies and fetta triangles....always worked fine for me

Life has changed quite a bit
We are going to have 7-8 kids from age 3-8 around the house
    I like cooking for them
I'm planning an American BBQ of burgers and hot dogs for them to try

Plus......her brothers have already asked what I will cook for them. 555

The whipped cream is actually not a big deal.
I'd prefer to get the kind that I use and the thickness works well with the chilled pudding
But again......making it for kids......they will be happy with anything

Marc26, I go along with Baccy on the sheets of frozen pastery, if you want flakey pastry, get the puff pastery, if you want a harder crust get the short crust. Just keep it frozen and it normally only takes about 10-15 mins to defrost.

If you are looking for expat type foods, try either of these 2 places.

Villa Market 218/1-4 Petchakasem Rd. (btwn Hua Hin 84 & 86), Hua Hin, Changwat Prachuap Khiri Khan 77110, Thailand Phone No +66 32 532 100
I am pretty sure it would be down towards Soi 90's where you stayed on one of your trips previously

Also there is a small place at the other end of town called Hua Hin Ham & Bacon which does all things expat in the way of food and beers eat.
This one is down Soi 41 and is a bit hard to find
Hua Hin Ham and Bacon Company. Pies, meats, sausagues and imported foods.

I am sure if they do not have what you want, they will be able to pint you in the right direction.

Also looking at what that topping is, see if you can find a product called "Creme Fraiche", I am sure it is possibly very similar to what you want.

    As for the crust
It is a pudding pie and it needs that graham cracker type crust
It is easy enough for me to bring it from Canada.
