    Bangkok Hotels

It's been a while for me. Any Bangkok hotels to recommend near Nana? I booked the Dawin. But I saw the Aspen with a kitchenette for less baht. Anyone ever stay there? And is it worth the extra distance from Nana?

I haven't stayed any of them. I stay at Smart Suites down Soi 11.

I like it because its in the middle of Cowboy and Nana and I enjoy the walk both directions.

    When you going Dupree?

^ Same, I stay a few soi's away. The best hotel I have stayed in for the price is Dream Hotel on Soi 15. It has all the amenities I care for. A bit of a walk to Nana, but equidistant to Soi Cowboy. We keep trying different places but always end up back at Dream. The rooms are a little dated, but spotless and I like the blue lighting that you can turn off.

Decent breakfast and great staff, the internet was the best I have ever seen in LOS, but they had changed providers last time I was there. I have seen the standards go as low as 2300.

I've stayed at Petals Inn and Majestic Suite. I like them both.

    BOUTIQUE IN STYLE, NOT SIZE.

With a surrealist in-your-dreams design, each of the 168 guest rooms and 26 suites of Dream Bangkok exude avant-garde appeal. Luxuriously appointed, whimsically modern and themed with theatre and technology, these spaces prove that trendy touches can co-exist with easy-going comforts. (Who knew.)
Oh and did we mention that the ethereal blue therapy light seeping from beneath the bed creates the illusion of floating on a cloud? Add in 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, a 32, 37 or 42-inch plasma-screen TV, fully stocked minibar, IDD telephone, and complimentary Internet access everywhere, and the overall ambience is pure bliss. It’s all part of what you get.
That's a lot of rooms. Must be a long walk to the pool. Are we sure it's GF?

Positive, lots of BGs traipsing through the lobby. There are two buildings, the one across the soi is the newer addition, it has the pool and roof top bar.

I found a blog on it that has tons of info.

They just built a new 7/11 100 meters away if you walk away from Sukhimvit.

It is a little off the main drag.

EDIT: The elevator drops you off steps from the pool.

I usually stay at Dynasty Grande around on Soi6 which runs off 4.

It's close enough and far enough away at the same time. Also handy to the little alley into Soi8. Nana BTS about 5 minutes walk.

I usually stay at On8, entrance just opposite to Exit #4 of Nana BTS, so handy to get around BKK traffic (note, some taxis don't like driving around Sukhumvit).

I stayed at Petals in January for a change. It's ok, rooms are smaller than Dynasty Grande. The room I had was comfortable enough but only a Queen size bed as opposed to Dynasty's King size. Was very cosy for the 3some. Cheaper as well.

I like Citadines on Soi 8 these days. Soi 11 is too busy for my wanderings... 55

I liked Aspen Suites on Soi 2 when I stayed there as well... rooms felt big...

I stay at Pachara suites. On soi 6, directly opposite Dynasty Grand.
Same advantages as mentioned by Cuzzy.

I noticed that Petals Inn's prices fluctuate a lot. I have stayed there twice. First time for 1500 baht per night and second time for 1050 per night. Other times it has been above 2000, and then I just found another place. But I think when the price is 1500 or less, it's good value.

If you want to stay near the clubs on Soi 11, try Citichic on Soi 13, great rates and nice rooms.

    Where you staying in Pattaya?
