How close to Passport expiration can you enter thailand?

My Passport expires July 2017. I'm assuming I won't have an issue in November. But there are stories of people denied entry because of a close expiration. Anyone know any fact on this?
I just girl in bar. Buy me one dink?....

Passport has to be valid for 6 months at the date your visa expires.
So with a 30 days visa exemption in November there is no problem. But with a 3 month tourist visa you would have.. 555

    Correct.
But doesn't apply to your country of passport on return.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!
