I used to follow one of those Phuket pages, but I forgot which one. It made me miss it too much, so I unfollowed

Now I just follow Ajarn.com and Love Pattaya Thailand.

I only follow a couple of Bali ones on Facebook but those are good, I might look them up tonight.

Not much of a twitter user, but incidentally I logged into an old account today after a few months. I mentioned here a long time ago that I was going to start a travel blog. Well I did and I run it for a year, but I didn't have time to look after it for a while. The subscription run out but I figured I could always reactivate. Turns out they delete all your stuff after a month or so.

The Twitter account was for that page, it has an associated Facebook page as well. When I logged into Twitter I noticed I had 1700 followers. So I might look after the account and see how far it gets.

Like most things Internet, you can get swamped with stuff to look through.
What we need is a kind of TD "Compare the Meerkats" to weed out the mass of stuff and highlight a few really worthwhile sites to visit now and again.

Have you tried Reddit? They call it the front page of the internet. It's basically a massive forum around interests. You sign up and subscribe to any subject that interests you. You'll then have the most popular stuff around that subject bubble up to the surface and show up on the main "wall". The only annoying thing is when you first sign up it subscribes you to a whole bunch of things, so you have to go through and unsubscribe.

I never got what Twitter was about, probably because it didn't really take off here. To me it's like Facebook without cat pictures.

That's good. A customised feed can really save you time. I get most of my news from the Daily Show 555(and a couple of others). They put snippets up on their YouTube channel and it tells you everything you need to know.

I get science and tech news from Reddit, and if I get the urge I can always Google my own cat videos 55. I deleted Facebook from my phone, and only occasionally check it on the computer at home now. Best thing I ever did.

Facebook misses Thai deadline to remove critical content - BBC News

Facebook is still accessible in Thailand despite a deadline passing for it to remove material the authorities had deemed critical of the monarchy.

The social media giant had been given until 10:00 local time (04:00 GMT) to remove 131 pages that Thailand said violated its strict lese-majeste laws.

More than 100 people have been charged under the law since the military coup three years ago.

Authorities had threatened legal action and a complete shutdown of Facebook.
