    White Temple Chiang Rai

The white temple in Chiang Rai does anyone know the meaning of the gateway with all the hands reaching up?

I was told its pulling the bad spirits out of you while you walk over is correct or not.

I don't know, I thought of them as made to be stretching up from their version of hell, but, as below, interpretations vary, and recognising this is a work of art from Charlemchai Kositpipat rather than a true Buddhist temple, reflects the artist's views

The bridge of "the cycle of rebirth": the main building at the white temple, the ubosot, is reached by crossing a bridge over a small lake.
In front of the bridge are hundreds of outreaching hands that symbolize unrestrained desire.
The bridge proclaims that the way to happiness is by foregoing temptation, greed, and desire.
Next to the lake stand two very elegant Kinnaree, half-human, half-bird creatures from Buddhist mythology.

    and

Much of the temple’s messages refer to escaping desire, greed and passion and moving towards the sublime through Buddhist teachings.
To reach the main temple hall, you cross a threshold guarded by demons and traverse a bridge over an ocean of ghostly hands reaching up from the cycle of death and rebirth. The temple building symbolizes the realm of the Buddha and rising to a state of nirvana.

    and
Before crossing the bridge of the “Cycle of Rebirth”, one cannot prevent getting the chills gazing upon the hundreds of sculpted hands reaching up from “Hell”, symbolizing the way to happiness through overcoming cravings.

I hate where it is located, it just takes away from the overall experience, IMO

I wish it was in a better setting

Yeah I do know the process but not that company. They do a great job.

I'm booked with Wayne from Advanced air brush. Wayne has a studio in Sydney and known as one of the best around. Does some awesome work but at a cost.
He comes over to Perth regularly to do some jobs so doing mine in a few weeks.

He doesn't do the prep or clear coat, Lucky I'm in that trade I will do the prep, give it to Wayne to do his work then I will clear coat it myself. I'm going to do it in Flat clear not gloss. I like different and you don't see too much air brush work with this detail that has flat clear. If it looks shit in flat it only takes a scuff down with wet and dry and then re clear in gloss.

Just did a big order with JP Cycles in the US as well. Time for a rebirth on the soft tail. I will post in the motor cycle section when done.
