I usually get a connecting flight from Chiang Mai and go through immigration there. Looking at Ao's photo that is defiantly not going to change.

I was thinking that, when I go back that I will end my trips in Samui because clear immigration there......so much easier

We need to fly out of DMK to Vietnam on Jan1, I don't know how DMK is

I was in and out of BKK 2 weeks ago and never faster thru Immigration so Ao must have struck a unique situation. Computer system down or multiple Cn flights departing same time?

I much prefer CNX clearance if it (normally) suits.
    Cheers, Rob.
Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting: holy s.h.i.t what a ride!

Same same. My flight from the UK had to circle Bangkok airspace for 20 minutes due to a back log of flights coming in. On hearing this I thought immigration would be a nightmare. I got off the plane and made my way to the immigration hall as fast as I could, overtaking everyone in the process, only to find most of the desks open and no queues. So unpredictable.
Then after getting my bags, the check in for CM was nice and easy.

Get the golf cart service as well so you can sit back and wave to the suckers in queue.

Maybe I'm just lucky or more patient than some but never really had any issues with BKK, sure had to wait a bit but done that at plenty of airports. Connecting flights to CM are always a breeze out on BKK.

    DMK different story.

^ same for me, last two have been record-breakers for me in terms of speed, last month stepped off plane from Singapore 11.01am, through immigration, no baggage to collect just carry-on, had to wait for a taxi - maybe 2 min - at 11.26 I was on the road to Ekamai; I've made six trips thru Suvarnabhumi since February and no significant delays, worst overall was arriving 5pm on a Friday - should have anticipated this when booking, off plane, immigration no problem, but the usual 30 minutes taxi was over an hour, at which point I got out and walked last 1.5km, traffic standstill. Don Mueang doesn't suit me, adds too much to road time, it's Suvarnabhumi every time now

...arriving usually isn't too bad... it's leaving... I have been caught up in very long queues more often than not when leaving BKK... hence I usually arrive 4 hours before my plane leaves...
    Singularity prediction... 2043...
