    Well that's the thing
In one breath, it is funny and also quite envious

But in another breath..........it's almost like their brains aren't fully developed........they can space out so easily

Attachment is the root of all suffering.. So it's good to be able to detach yourself from all the stress around you..

A Thai friend told me they should make sleeping an Olympic sports, so Thailand could win a gold medal.. 555

As I said I think there is good and bad things about it

I envy how a Thai can just do nothing for hours and not get bored

But I'd never want any child of mineto lack the curiosity that I find many Thais do

In my experience, the curiosity is there, just that they are trained to appreciate the simpler things in life, like food, company and fun and laughter, and trained not to demand too much of life and people.

I have traveled with several Thai ladies, and when driving they usually fall asleep.
But when I wake them to see something special, they don't get angry or annoyed, they thank me, enjoy whatever it is I woke them for.. and go back to sleep.. 555

Not my experience all with a ton of Thais, poor and middle class

They could give a shit about seeing anything new

Like that time with my stepson that baffled me
1st time in Canada, is asleep in the car 5mins into our 1st drive
    That is simply just idiotic

Most Thais suffer from car sickness, I think mainly due to not being used to the movements of the car from childhood as we are..
Sleeping or semi-sleeping is their way to deal with it.
Stop the car and they will wake and appreciate the view, or get some Cinnerazine to make them feel better while driving..

    It's all in their head
My stepson used to pull that crap when he was young and I would chide him it was in his head(not meanly, more jokingly)
Hey, surprise............he got over his car sickness

Of course it's in their head, that's where the labyrinth is.
When it's not used to be shaken, it complaints big time.. But once it's gets used to the abuse, it numbs itself..

Yours probably still gets upset in a roller-coaster, but not in "normal" situations like cars, boats and planes..
For people not used to it, it's different..

It's even worse when you have to wake the driver to appreciate the view...

I would suggest that it is "mao rot", which means travel sickness. Rot mao is a drunk car.

Drunk car may be what they mean.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!
