Damn. Tides move fast. Hopefully they're holding tight somewhere in there. Trouble is oxygen flow and extreme humidity and heat if passages get blocked by water. Fingers crossed.

They have tides in Chiang Rai? Maybe you mean floods?

Cave closed for the rainy season and the 25 yr old coach tells the kids to follow him as they'll be fine... idiot.

Sounds like they'll be OK so long as they don't get any major flooding before they're found.

^ I can't confirm that ATM......No updates on the news feeds.......Paer showed me a pic last night on her Facebook with someone on the scene ?....... The longer the search takes the less chance of finding the boys alive.

Widespread rain over all northern provinces will not help search efforts as rivers continue to rise. One can only hope the boys are perched high and dry up in a chamber with an air vent.

Pang Mapha caves has many such chambers despite being far less extensive though I'd hate to spend even one night in there as it would be damp and very dark ... albeit warm enough.
    Cheers, Rob.

Honest to god I have had this worry about my stepson's constant school trips for a long time before this

He literally is on school trips, 3-5 days, at least once a month

And I'm always worried about the transportation and who is chaperoning
I initially was happy for him to go to get away from his strict Grandmom but have brought this up to Ao a few times to no avail

All parents go thru it, in fact we never let up, it's a natural instinct. My son's 32 in a few weeks and I still worry about him. 55

Whether or not these kids are in fact safe depends on the cave topography and this is something only experienced local cavers would know about. The potential for accidental death other than (by direct) drowning also exists due to dark slippery, rocky conditions in tunnels and caves. Any lights they may have carried would likely be out of battery by now.
    Cheers, Rob.

Well let's pray to Buddha, God, or whomever you do that they are safe

On a side note......how cool would your job be to be a Navy Seal and be able to save these kids????

Now that's a frigging job you'd feel that you are adding something to this world!
