Kiwi is easy. Ten pence is "tin pince".

I tried to get an old Kiwi GF to pronounce "pence" properly and she finally got it when she said "Oh. As in "under-pents"? LOL

Easiest way to sound Aussie is to keep your teeth clamped together. For upper-clash (posh) English, keep your mouth almost closed and shaped like you're about to whistle and remember "down town" is pronounced "dine tine" (which takes us back, full circle, to Kiwi).

My younger (Canadian) sister moved to London, England. Over the course of 10 years her accent changed from Canadian to a broad British accent. She no longer sounded like my "little sister".

weird thing with me...having lived in the UK for quite a bit of my life I can slip from my usual AUS accent into a mild english one within a couple of weeks of being back there...

no idea how I speak in NZ but most people who ask, pick me as english rather than AUS..go figure

Does Matt Damon do a decent Boston accent in this scene? Just trying to get my head around what the accent is...

This is a really bad one that is more like the poor areas I am from
Just like in the UK, the poorer, less educated areas will have worse accents
    Lazy accents

The girl is a real hood rat

This old video is very much like my neighborhood
And from what they are talking about it is from when I was 14/15yrs old

That girl reminds me of Laverne & Shirley. Even though aren't they supposed to be mid-west somewhere?

That guy in the second video reminds me of Vince in Wise Guy. Show from the 80s... they still sound like New Yorkers to me... must be a subtle (or not so subtle) difference... maybe like the difference between a Newcastle accent and a Sunderland one... as opposed to a Liverpool v London one.. 55

No it's not subtle difference at all

Mine is now mixed with more Boston so someone like you may not notice the difference

    But they are very different
I guess the similarities of being a bit gruff and harsh is what you are hearing

Now can you post a video of a NY accent? As that guy sounds like all the guys in "Taxi" to me... 55
