    Flights from Bangkok

Does anyone from any other country find flights from Bangkok to your country are a lot more expensive than flights from your country to Bangkok??

Nop, always cheaper to head back home. Mostly due to taxes. The people heading out always cop the airport tax, fuel levy, etc.
Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.

    I'm talking round trip flights

Flights from Bangkok to Vancouver r/t almost never go below 1200cad

But Vancouver to Bangkok can be as little as 600-700cad

Maybe it's a holiday destination vs every day travel sort of thing??

Still the same. I just I had a look at return flights for the same set of dates in October:

    BKK >> PER >> BKK $459
    PER >> BKK >> PER $525

A long time back US to Oz return were 50%+ more expensive than Oz to US return. No idea now.

So why do you think that is?

Maybe what I said..... it's sort of Thailand is a "holiday destination" so there is big swings whereas places like UK/North America are sort of looked at as "regular travel"??

No idea , I always assumed it would be cheaper , Thais generally have less money , thought we might be subsiding them ... I was going to get a one way and then start booking my returns from Thailand , but anecdotal evidence and checking at Thai travel agents put me off the idea

I just paid, 1250 for three tickets one way on Japan airlines from LAX, and except for the food, they were pretty great.

I got award travel on the way back, i had to do it this way becaise united wont book for cash and points in the same reservation and i couldn't do three round trip tickets.

It was cheaper to fly from lax to bkk. Also cheaper to use points going back. Dont ask me why, but it worked out.

I liked JAL, don't remember the food
I don't ever worry about the food on flights

Although I do remember Korean Airlines had great food the one time I flew them

I could fly for 534usd r/t but my return flight doesn't match up well with any flights available for Ao coming back
