Direct flights appear to be once a week and may stop altogether in rainy season?

I was over last year in September and and took the Virgin direct flight from HKT to Perth (Sunday Night), from memory was about 11pm departure and got in about 6.00am
Direct Flights seem to be 5 out of 7 days with Tuesdays & Thursdays missing out at present (checked for this month and also later in August) and is the same story for both times

Opened this tread to times thinking "why would a virgin go from Perth to Phuekt?"
    Or maybe, just because..

That explains why I didn't find anything as I wanted to leave on a Thursday and come back on a Tuesday

Yes they have never flown to Phuket on a Tuesday or Thursday Condo . They fly in on a monday ,stay overnight and fly back on the Tueday. Same for the wednsday/thursday route.
The way they have always done it .

Its a horror flight mate. I've only done it once, and in business class, but they use a domestic config 737 and its not nice, even in J. 6.5 hours really needs a widebody in my opinion.

These days I'm tending to fly back from Bangers via SIN, BKK-SIN with 3K, then SIN-PER with QF. Last trip I did SIN-PER with JQ but yikes, 5.5 hours in a crappy A320 with no cushioning in the seats and no inflight entertainment ... was painful, I don't do that again.

Its a bit of stuffing around, but I'd probably entertain the though myself of an $80 flight HKT-BKK with TG, then BKK-SIN-PER. I hate the super early flights with TG from BKK, you have to get up at about 3am, bugger that. 3K isn't too bad for short trips to SIN and they are pretty cheap.

Yep all booked on Singapore Airlines - Brisbane - Singapore - Phuket rtn which should clock up a few status points. Plus as a Velocity Gold I can use the lounges along the way.
