    Hotels from recent trip...

thought I throw on a couple short reviews of two main hotels from recent trip

First was Boss Suites in Bangkok. Price was good,(about $50 CAN/US I think) location was good--4 or 5 blocks down from Nana on Soi 4. I like to walk so didn't mind--and they have a free tuk tuk to get you to the skytrain or just up to Suk. Room was nice. Hotel was very guest friendly, no issues at all. Breakfast was good --a bit eclectic--with curry and stuff--but then the ladies seem to like it. I actually stayed for 3 nights, left for Patong, then came back for one night that happened to be my birthday---on checking in they sang "Happy Birthday" to me, and best of all upgraded me to a roof top suite for same low price--very nice. Very friendly front desk staff.

Second would be The Bliss in Patong. Pros: Nice location-right across from beach. Very nice room--balcony looking out on bay. About 15 min walk to Bangla. Very nice room, good pool.

Cons: Wifi sucks. Major hassle to my guests at first two breakfasts--I booked for 2, they told me in emails that would get 2 breakfasts--but that didn't seem to get communicated--so both mornings--argument with staff about extra breakfast--very embarrassing to both me and especially my guest. Front desk not really friendly--they said they would book trips--but wouldn't book the (cheaper) boat trip to Phi PHi I wanted---likely cause no kick back in it for them. More family oriented so not a great atmosphere to be in with guests (lots of looking down) Price-not sure...Patong is more expensive and was near beach, so at about $100 (Can/US) a night perhaps a bit pricey...

I would definitely go back to Boss Suites. I think the only way I would go back to Bliss is if I was going with someone who was going to be there whole time and check in--and even then probably not....

^Boss Suites... do those open bathroom views cause inconvenience at all?
My only experience was in a pie making factory managing the gravy team

If i remember correctly they had a pull down shade but I didn't mind...I think one guest used it, but Bliss had similar so might have been there....

They do have a pull down screen and the only inconvenience when I stayed there was that the GF insisted on pulling it down.. No shower show for me 55555
I also liked the Boss Suites...

I do not see how it should be a problem as with the blind down it is like any regular bathroom.. So the choice is yours..
