    MW and my home project

Well we have started our little home on our block we have had for awhile.
We have had alsorts of ideas some small some grand and have been kicking our ideas around for sometime.

We had quite some family business to take care of before we could start so three days in at this time.
I have a good little floor plan design app on the iPad and we had quite a few plans we liked.....Scrapped the lot and sat down on Thurs night and drew one up in about 30 mins.
    We both went that's it.

E-mailed this to myself and printed it in town on A3 gave it to the guy we have in village who will be doing the first part of the project.
He looked at it and said no worries mate...Or words to that effect anyway.

Why reinvent the wheel so ve will be constructing as most houses are up this way.
    With a few farang tweaks.

Will itemize all the costs along the way, any firk ups also and will post extensive photos.

It's exciting and fun and unlike projects like this in the west noooooo red tape.

No red tape, you gotta love it!

I watched as a builder started across the road from us... in suburban Chiang Mai. With nothing more than a tape measure he plotted a position off the hedge to one side and the edge of our concrete road. They dug a hole and this became the corner post position of the house, no surveying, no clearing of undergrowth. Since there's houses on all 3 sides no real accuracy was needed.

Si Saket isn't far from Ubon & Jo's baan.... we missed catching up by bugger all in distance.... must coordinate things better next time.
    Cheers, Rob.

Will start with a few pics of the block and the erecting of the first poles.
We had about 70 loads of soil dumped about 8 months ago at about 100bt a load.
So the first thing we needed to do was clear up the growth and flatten it all out.

MW's 13 year old newhew on the Kabota and bloody good at it.

Ceremony for the blessing of the first pole.

    Site boss.5555

Simple design 2 bedder and a large lounge and kitchen.
Later I will be able to give you the roof dimensions.
Disregard the window as we are still sorting sizes and shapes just there for the idea.
Really this was just to get all the poles in the right spots.

The white is no walls so 14 you can see where the poles will be this area has changes slightly due to boundary restrictions and the 3 poles are back about 1 meter and we have elected to have the front deck area only covered by roof about 1/3 rd.

To get the first stage complete poles and Cpac roof about 186000.00 bt
We chose the Cpac or to me the std Ozzi tiled roof as it was more substantial than the filmy tin that is locally used, maybe no need but was pointed out that most Farangs do this.55555

the roof structure will be completed over the next couple of weeks then we will raise the floor by loading in more soil about a meter.
Poor in the slab as it were, this will give it all good lateral strength which is needed due the heavy option of the roof material.
Floor to ceiling just over 3 meters.

Love this Cpac tiles 12.5 bt each JC whats a std tile worth here??

No rush 12 months aprox we are luck with MW's brother and sister having a very good idea of what is needed so we have good eyes on the ground.

Yes mate veranda or balcony..deck depending on where you are from.

We will need to be there to make some decisions but not to many.
