I've gotten some good deals when staying at the Shangri-La.
I think 3-4k/nt but when staying there you want to experience it all and that adds up.

Sunday brunch with unlimited lobsters, steaks and every thing else you can imagine was 1900/pp
Their Italian restaurant, Angelini, is the best Italian restaurant I have been to in Thailand.....the best tarimisu I have ever had.

Then drinks by the pool
So it gets costly.

To be honest......I love 5 star hotels but I have enjoyed myself just as much at Ibis Riverside across the river.
An incredible pool area and they have a great Thai Tapas menu at the pool.

Sounds like staying at Millenium Hilton all the little extra's add up but it great fun..Love the sky bar there!
And love the location has a different feel than Suk.

I never stay on Suk anymore for a long time...........just too congested.
My wife prefers Suk but I try to stay over by the river or Sathorn
Although I stayed at Marriott on Suk 57 in Thonglor last time and it was good

Do you want to be down that end specifically?

I stayed in a great new hotel on Soi 16

Gardina Asoke

I liked it because it was quiet and could walk to a few cool spots

But may be too far up the soi for some people

I thought the Accor prices had jumped, but it was just because my login hadn't automatically initiated. Thus, I will probably stick with Accor.
Gardina looks good.

Oh yeah
Forgot you were an Accor

Have you ever stayed at the BKK Novotel before?
I'm thinking of doing so in January

Our flight is at 8:30am in the morning on a weekday

555 Which one! I have stayed at 6 or 7 of the 11

Airport - only once, 10 years ago. Very convenient but didn't use facilitites. Twice the price of the city Novotel.

Novotel Bangna is closer to the airport, and probably just scrapes into 4 star category unless it has been updated. Ploenchit can be a good option on a day you need to get to the airport. If you lug your bags over the overpass to the other side of Sukhumvit Road, then you are at the mouth of the expressway entrance.

Yeah I meant the airport one

My wife is a certified crazy person and if we have an 8am flight she will make me head to the airport at like 2am

In June she dropped me off at the airport 5hrs ahead of my Samui flight!

So thinking stay at the hotel and chill the last night
Looks pretty decent

Sheeesh.... Grow a pair and standup for yourself man 😅

If I got to the airport 5 hours before, I'd be absolutely legless by the time I got on the plane.

Has anyone stayed at LK Metropole before? Looks a bit dated, but it's right at the heart of it these days, so can't be beat for location I think.
