Anyone been to Phi Phi recently?

I went to Phi Phi my 1st visit to Thailand but stayed on a private beach so didn't get a good feel for the place.


It's just the easiest trip for me to do and see new islands

Kamala 3 days, ferry to Phi Phi for 3 days, ferry to Koh Lanta for 4 days


Any recent views on Phi Phi, I am up in the air about it

I'd go as soon as possible before tourism picks up again, though I can't see it going back to previous volumes ever again, due to many reasons.

Still, the fewer humans you encounter, the nicer it'll be.

For Xmas
Ao's US Visa expires in September and she has to wait until next September 2023 for an appointment!

So we want to spend Xmas with her family in Thailand
Having a big proper Xmas dinner with her family
Which they never have done....

It seems a bit congested already, to be honest

But watched a Paddy Doyle video and he ventured to the other side of island

And the water is still beautiful

It's such an easy stopover to my real desired destination of Koh Lanta

So figured why not for 3 days

Hotels aren't that great though... .

It will be real interesting to compare December high season with no restrictions to this past summer trip

I'm sure busier but don't think it will back to norm yet
