Best place to rent a car in Udon Thani Thailand?

Hi all.

I'm coming to Udon Thani, Thailand for the first time and i was thinking about renting a car during my visit.

Has anyone here have any experience renting a car in the area?
I looked at 3 companys UD Car Rent, Lek Car Rent and Best Car Rental Udon Thani.

Anyone have rented from these 3?
UD Car Rent and Best Car Rental offer both free gps and free wifi so iam more interested in them.

Any advice is helpful.

Also, i'd appreciate it very much if anyone could recommend a good and quiet hotel in udon thani.

I have used Lek Car Rental up there. Deliver/pick up from Airport. No hassles at all.

As for Hotel....get somewhere near Central. I use Agoda to search.

I use Lek a fair bit and UD Residence which is about 700 baht/ night. Home might be worth a look too.

We got a Honda Jazz at the airport.
IIRC it cost 700 a day.
We took the outrageously expensive offer of TOTAL insurance cover at an extra 150 baht a day.
With that insurance , when we returned it they didnt even come out and look at the car !

I think it was the yellow Co. It had its office opposite a coffee shop near the entrance to the terminal glass doors. Is that Hertz ?


We stayed at the Pannarai at about 1600 baht a night.
Its modern and on a kind of bar street and had good parking/wifi ( same street as irish Clock bar )
It was excellent.
