Bacco in thonglor ... not far from Asoke and many other It choices nearby.
We decided on tapas and paella

But this is a good thread to keep up for people to add to it

Thanks KR

No worries Paul. Enjoy.

FYI Bacco is a large restaurant with impressive displays of vino stocks around the walls and the biggest revolving wood fired oven I've seen. Food was excellent. Suk 53 from memory.

Isn't there a huge Italian right on the corner of Sukhumvit and soi 23? "Little Italy" or something. Never been in but it's been there a while.

Looks horrible from the outside

And it says open 24hrs
Any decent restaurant isn't open 24hrs

He's there every time I pass. 55

It's a lot nicer inside than out. No idea what the food is like.

The best pizza by the slice and lasagna I've ever had is in Pala Pizza Romana. It's run by a couple of proper greasballs too. Aside from pizza they have a huge cured meats section, full menu and deserts. I think you'd like it. You can take away the slices or sit in.

It's right next to Dunkin donuts by the entrance to Asoke bts/ Sukhumvit mrt. Recent reviews on google. I've been there probably 3 times in my last 2 trips and it's always full. That's usually a good sign.

It's shit and overpriced. I would never step foot in there again. 55

There is a new food hall opened on Soi 11 across from Aloft

It has around 10 small mom and pop type small restaurants

I went to eat Fowlmouth
Hot(spicy) fried chicken sandwiches but closed on Monday

I grabbed a slice of pizza at Cantina, a walk up pizza window

It wasn't the greatest but pretty good for Bangkok

I had a great meal at la Scala in The Sukothai Hotel over in Lumphini...just off Sathon Tai Rd..back when Rob was F+B Manager there...not sure of the price as it was comped but it was good as many fine dining joints I have been to in Italy...

Was looking for casual
Prices in the some of the Italian restaurants in the nicer hotels here are insane

I actually decided on Tapas Vino in Pullman Hotel
I went to book it on thier website and got a pleasant surprise of 50% the food if book direct on their website

Didn't know Rob worked at Sukothai
That has to be the nicest place he ever worked

I must admit... I can't be fussy. I can't remember the last time I had a bad meal in a restaurant... probably never... I just cannot tell good from bad... it all tastes good to me... unless it's hot... 55
