is your travel companion also doing carry on , otherwise your still going to be waiting for luggage , also if you are using Easyjet or RyanAir for internal flights , they can be very stingy when it comes to carry on ..
Do you think we are Paulie's family? My friend is the one that sold me the idea of carryon. I got a new suitcase yesterday. And with a smaller personal item bag. It should work. It's just clothes in the new suitcase. And then chargers and toiletries in the personal item bag.

They should tell you what the exact allowed weight is, usually no more than 7KGs, and some 5. But aside from weight, are not taking any toiletries or anything like that whatsoever? I usually bring more than one bottle of cologne, and that by itself is too much for carryon as it ends up over 100mil.
Don't your airlines have a liquids limit? We have the 3-1-1 rule for carryons.

I have a Charles Shwab brokerage account. I applied for their Debit Card specifically because is reimburses foreign transaction fees. And I can use it to tap onto the Underground in London. I've tested it out here at four different vendors. And the tap was never successful. I always have to insert the card to complete the transaction. Twice I decided not to insert the card. And use my other cc. Twice I've received notifications of Suspicious Activity. And the card is blocked. When I call them back they give all sorts of excuses of why it may be suspicious. They say they need to figure out my spending pattern. I say I haven't had a successful tap yet. I tell the rep that she has not helped me. I ordered a replacement. If it doesn't work I'm moving my money out. I'm amazed that an organization that moves trillions of dollars everyday can't get this right.

I tap with my Wise Card when catching the train to work. That's the one most likely to work in London. Cost 10 bucks to get a physical card, but you don't even need that, though get it anyway. Otherwise open a free account, chuck a bit of change in and set it up in Google Wallet or Apple Pay and tap with your phone, which is how I do it.

That's a bit of a worry.

its a great account for Americans , we have nothing similar ... especially in places like Thailand where the ATM Fees can be $9 each time ...

remember to always try to select pay in the currency of the country you are in ... otherwise Dynamic Currency Conversion comes into play and Banks , Hotels and restaurants will screw you on the FX rate
