You on Medicare now?

My Mom's hospital bills had to be in the millions....

Never paid a dime.....
Medicare plus a supplement. The Supplement saved me big time. I was planning on cashing out, stiff the bill and move to an island.

Why
Medicare wouldn't cover it all??
I'm wrong. It covers 100% for 60 days stay. And..
Medicare Part B typically covers 80% of approved outpatient surgery costs, and 80% of Medicare-approved amounts for doctors' services billed separately from hospital charges for inpatient surgery. This means that after you've met your annual deductible, you're responsible for the remaining 20% of the cost, as well as any deductibles or copayments. In 2024, the Part B annual deductible is $226.

His condition looks to have significantly deteriorated. He can barely talk.

Looks like his insurance has determined that he's not fit to travel, so he's having his operation in Thailand.

I have no idea who these guys are but he has a good friend.....he's lucky

A couple points

I wouldn't say he's in real trouble just because of his speech
Anything on the brain , will mess with your speech and anything else
He seems pretty cognizant, so that's good

My niece had brain surgery a few years ago and it was done at a University Hospital in Isaan(she happened to faint there on a school trip) and they were brilliant

People tend to think our western hospitals are better but Thailand has very good hospitals and very good doctors

He's in good hands

Yes...I'll attest to that...when I was diagnosed with neck cancer on Samui my ENT was straight onto it...she had me in hospital for raft of tests the next day, Biopsy, CT Scan, Blood Tests, X-Rays and Laryngoscopy all done in one day....all tests back within a few days and prognosis confirmed...
She had me in the Specialist Cancer Hospital at Surat Thani (mainland) within the next week and I was undergoing chemo/Radio therapy treatment the week after that...(whilst my insurance company was still deciding what to do with me....it was covid blackout times)
Once back here in AUS and under the extremely talented and qualified team of specialist doctors at St Vincent's Hospital (most have double specialties-ENT + ONC and some are surgeons on top of that) I asked them whether they thought I had the right treatment in Thailand...they said that they were amazed at how rapid and well handled it was all done and that they would have prescribed the exact same treatment here...

This guy may be the dumbest moron alive....

I honestly don't understand how he got through life up to that point

In a matter of weeks he meets a girl in the bar and buys a bar in her name!
Buys a car, in her name!

Shells out close to 2mil baht for a truck for the brother !

He's living off a banana a day and when asked why he doesn't go back to Australia and he dismissed it straight away....nah no need to make a living

Holy hell

Stick an orange robe on him and give him a bowl. He's got the head for it. I don't mean brains, those are clearly lacking, I mean the dome.

Doesn't need to open his mouth either, since the vow of silence is pretty normal.
