Just finished sorting out our next trip.
Fly with Scoot from Perth to Samui from the 19Apr 2026 and leave 7 May 2026. Great fare with Scoot, price was just under $730 each return to Samui
Leave Perth at 2155 and arrive in Singapore 3.25am. Leave Singapore at 7.00am and arrive Samui at 7.50 am

Staying at the Bandara in Bohput for 10 nights

Then down to Lamai to stay at the Samui Jasmine on Lamai Beach
Decided on there rather than the Outrigger as it is closer to the centre of Lamai than the Outrigger that I first thought of

Great connections and shorter lay over on the way back in Singapore.
Leave at 11.05am from Samui and arrive in Perth at 20.35pm

So everything is booked, and cannot wait to get there

I'll miss you by a few days. Planning on 23rd to the 30. Not sure whether Samui or Phuket yet though. Kamala if Phuket.

I usually go to Lamai in February, but decided to give it a swerve in 2026 ... The Weekender Hotel was my go to place to stay , but it's getting a little tired and rough around the edges... but that's not stopping the prices going up ... I looked at flights with Bangkok Air and they look more expensive than previous years , plus I found the "nightlife" to be a shadow of its former glory , over the last couple of visits ....

So Hua Hin for me instead, I had a great time there this trip and managed to get the last room at my hotel ( it's over Valentine's Day ,so popular... ) booked up

When Dupree stayed at Weekender I stopped by his room and it had that musty smell you get in Thailand with some places

I dropped into my friends' room at the Weekender back in July, it seemed fine.

They stayed at Briza at Chaweng next and that was excellent. I was up at Bhundhari Residence where I'm staying again in Jan. It's only costing me like 100 Aussie a night. It's basic, but the location is fantastic.

Have stayed up at Fisherman's Village before and loved it, also stayed up at Maenam Beach, which although quieter, was a great place to stay if you need to chill out and relax.

In relation to BKK Airways Singapore to Samui, I found the flights from Singapore to Samui to be OK and reasonable price (around 2000 to 2500 baht), but the return was over the top and around the 5500-6000 baht, so decided to go with the Scoot flight from Perth to Singapore and then Singapore to Samui.

Since my dog isn't around anymore I toyed with extending my trip
I was only doing 17 days because I didn't wwnt to be gone too long

Looked and it would have been 3k cad to change

Of course it's high season

But I've looked in the last 2-3 years to maybe change flights and you almost can't anymore with the prices

Dont think i will be up Crystal Bay, am going in fishermans wharf tomorrow night to see the Chelsea vs Leeds FA Cup Semi Final.
Will either go to the Frog and Geko or the Emerald Bar to watch the game I think. Not sure if they have any cameras there. Will have a look later.
Just of to Chewang for a few hrs, fresh shuttle there and back.
By the time we get it will be time for happy hour cocktails, buy one get one free. Yes they have long island ice tea, but short serves as only 4 spirits. Missed off the contreau.

Bacon, if you are checking the weather forecasrs
If you are watching online weather forecast, ignore mot of them. In 18 days other than rain during the night. We have had upto 2hrs in total fot the 19 days so far.
Has bee cloudy at times but once they move over its sunny again.
Yeah it's never a problem, I actually don't mind the rain. I'll be at Kalama on Phuket mind. I check the live web cams. Looks alright.

How's your holiday been? Good times?

Been great so far. Maenam is like being in a time warp. Not a lot bar wise at present. Lot of old places shut down. Food has been great. House wine that is passable and well chilled
All in all great holiday all round.
If you were looking for somewhere to live in Samui for any length of time and work. . Loads of places available in Maenam
You would have not have so.many distractions up here compared to lamai or chewang.
