ive heard stories that the bars from the black horse and all the bars on that side of bangla down to the shipwreck at beach road are to be torn down to make way for a new hotel/resort complex ##, with the work ment to be starting the coming low season,
any-one else heard these rumours?

Kangaroo on that side is the only bar I remember from my first trip back in '90 , a real shame if that goes ....

That will leave Rock Hard A GoGo as the oldest establishment on Bangla , I think ...

It wouldn't surprise me....Bangla for me started at the Moon bar and continued down the left hand side until you get to the last bar before you hit the beach. That was my fav bar crawl. Now ruined by greedy owners and Girls trying to drag drinks out of you, as well as bill padding. Plus a change of crowd. I never saw a fight when I first went. Last year I saw at least a fight a day. Normally young kids who cannot hold their Alcohol.

10 years ago maybe the best place in the world to be, now I wouldn't mourn its loss.

So where and when did you hear these "stories"...?
Who was giving you this level of detail...?
What is the name of the new hotel/resort complex...?
Some kind of qualification on any of these levels might give some weight to this bar chatter...

Not sure what was going on but the soi behind and next to Aussie bar has been pulled down completely.

All the old Sois opposite the Bangla bars are getting revamped, the latest was Soi croc.

I've never heard or seen anything that would make me think the original Bangla street bars were going anywhere anytime soon. So nothing at all to back up the op question?

my favourite Bar in Patong used to be a place called the Paradise Bar , it was on the beachfront toward Soi Kebsup , perfect location for sunset drinks , run by an Aussie , served cold beer and had the best onion rings ever ... but the owners wanted him out , even though he had a longterm lease .... so after a couple of fires.... I think he finally got the message and they quickly replaced it with a shop ....

The soi behind the aussie bar has been pulled down for a while now. Over a gear if i remember correctly

i seem to recall being told that it was on long term lease (cheap) from someone like the navy? think the guy that has P one bar told me that.

So interesting for the longest time listening to you guys talk about bars and stuff and how you hang out at the same ones or have ties to it lol

Whenever I would go out in patong I would just soak in the whole place...wound up so drunk and fucked up id start at one corner of town and end up on the other...either in a 1k baht room with a freelance...or on the beach with some girl or in some personal apartment with some girl and her friend...point is I never really drank at a bar I always just drank on the go or on the street or beach or at a thai persons apartment inbetween it all lol...guess I will be differant and more of a normal bloke now that Im sober (not off alcohol il always drink lol)

I think the only time I EVER went to a bar planned was to meet nicky

Everything is layers and layers over that original concession from HMK, RTN, down.
