I have to say I have never felt like I have spent too long in Pattaya....
I think that you may find that things have changed a lot since you were last there. I think that you may be judging the place on the past. The air of depredation has got a lot worse. Most bars seem to struggle to find quality staff. The guys sitting nursing their beers at 10am, often looking like they just don't care about self image.
I think that if you like to insulate yourself in and around your hotel and pool area it may not be so noticeable.
Honestly the Indian and Russian tourists are generally far better turned out.

But as I did mention I was on a high from the Vietnam visit and was not feeling that great with the residue of my head cold still with me.

I want people to go to Soi Eric in Patong to see how ugly all the girls are
I don't want to be mean but its the truth

I honestly didn't even see one girl I'd consider a 5 in the whole soi

You could be right... I haven't been since 2017. Six years ago.

That is what i mean about Pattaya, compared to my early visits the quality is defiantly lower. Some bar owners blame the lack of good looking girls available. Which is not a bad thing if it means that girls are moving away from the bar scene. But I suspect the lookers are either in the high end ago go's or working through dating sites.
That is not to say that there are no pretty ladies, some bars and Gent's Clubs seem to do better. But the days of seeing gorgeous ladies at every bar do seem to be over. And that comes from an old fart who is far less fussy than he was 15 years ago 555

Having said all that I still had some good evenings, I just had to fin places with the right sort of vibe. The music abr for instance, the band was good and the lady who sat with me was good company if not the most beautiful woman around. But I did not bother to go back.

3 day rule for a bg too. Same same. But different..🤭
3 day rule works well for the BG's, but the problem was that the City itself looked desperate on the first day. By day 8 I had given up noticing 555
I have a feeling that there are a lot of people who are stuck there, their dwindling finances mean that they can't aford to go home even if they want to.

I agree with your summary Pete. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been there too often or not but it has definitely lost its appeal to me. A short 3 or 4 days is about right these days.
Maybe it’s us getting older but I don’t think I would want to end up in those expat beer bars everyday starring at the passers by. Plenty more to see and do in Thailand.

Funny, as I was driving at 7:30am this morning to the National Park I was thinking that I used to sleep until 2-3pm
Had a blast doing so but enjoying this phase of traveling so much more

As Pete said above
Find me a good bar playing good music, live or just a good soundtrack

I'm happy going home with a buzz at 10pm

I spent 2 weeks in Jomtien one time when i was trying to rehab my knee after ACL reconstruction.
I spent a lot of time in the big pool at the resort I was at, walking in the sand along the beach as well as riding down to Koh Sirae quite a few times during the days and visited Pats every few nights as it can be a bit much there.
I'd park my bike right at the soi where that cabaret place (??) was and windmill, sometimes soi 7&8 or other bar sois.

My arvo drinking spot was usually Condoms & Cabbages.... great chilled out spot...so I think longer stays there are possible but moderation needed...

I found there was plenty of chilled bars, restaurants, sports and music around Jomtien to keep me happy.

My few visits to Jomtien have always been good. But as it is a bit away from the action I have never thought of staying there.

And if you get tired of looking at Thai girls you can look at Russian girls 5555

I had my first trip to Jomtien as part of a bar crawl with the Buzzin crew back in December. 300 baht. Includes transport and a shot in each venue.

We stopped at a nice house down an alley with a couple of security guards outside. You'd never think it was a gents club. Had a pool with naked birds running around. Good fun. Never knew these places existed. Trouble is everything is really spaced out and it's normally too clicky with all these miserable expat fucks, but great when on a crawl with a bunch of lads.
