The MiL woke us up at 1am.
Grandma, who was moved in when we were here last May has died.
96 years, been bed ridden for 8 months.
Fireworks at 1.30am, neighbours andq family notified. All hands on deck.
More Fireworks.
I'm off with the brothers to get marques and chairs.
20 40kg bags of rice need moving to make room for guests. Farang do ok lol. That got me sweating
Women in the kitchen going hard out.
Au and me need to be at KKC airport at 9.45. I have an appointment at NZ Embassy at 10.30 tomorrow.
Lovely day for her send off.

It's happened once or twice with me and Mrs M in the last 16 years or so ... an extreme way to avoid the joiner fee 555
Staggering back into our 3 star Pattaya Hotel late one night and the Security Guard asks "Did we check in together earlier?" - Very diplomatic of him I thought. 555

If only we could download their memories before they pass.
I have genuine respect for almost any Thai who is a decade or more older than me.
I wonder what did they make these people from to make them so tough and durable?
How do you survive to such an age in such an environment?

We've only had some issues like this at smaller hotels and not 5 star hotels
And personally, I think they do this on purpose at times to fcuk with the wife out of jealousy or to "put her in her place"
But the 5 star hotels have always treated my wife amazing
I remember way back, before my wife had a Credit Card
I booked the Four Seasons but I wouldn't reach the hotel until around 1am
I called the hotel and asked if I could just prepay for my stay and then they could let my wife check in before me
They said don't worry about it, no need to prepay
They put a note on my reservation and said just tell your wife to check in and we will take your information when you arrive
Pretty damn good service

Yeah this one is at the budget end. Plenty of joiners coming and going lol.

A significant number of the men go early on from cancer. Most likely from a combination of smoking and many years of close contact with agri-chemicals.

Happened in Phuket about 6 or 7 years ago, I arrived the day before, wife arrived day after from Cebu. As soon as she talked they new and all apology's.

We had repeat problems with Lotus in Soi 33. Nothing funny about it. On the last visit they gave CJ a hard time for checking in prior to me, and they had been notified that this would be happening. The hotel manager got a serve from me and formally responded with " Please rest assured that feedback has been conveyed to directors of respective departments, who have met the employees concerned and taken necessary action."

Happened to us at Aspery Hotel in Patong
They were fucking with Ao the whole stay, even though she was a registered desk
After day 2 I went absolutely off on them
By the way, she got fcuked with a lot when she had her business as well
She'd have a big job at a hotel and the workers were jealous she's got this high paying contract so they'd throw up all sort of BS
Thais can be petty jealous
