I went to the pharmacy to buy something

Then texted my wife to ask if she wanted some beers at the pub

We had 2 beers each at the pub

Then 3 beers total at Japanese place and she had a small appetizer and salad

We spent about $100 total

We are just baffled what he could he spending his money on

He doesn't drink much at all
Doesn't go to clubs

Does he use a cc? Look at his statements.

Wasn't Uber twice a day the big one a while back?

He couldn't save pre-GF, so I expect it could only go in one direction post-GF.

Yup and still doing it

Slept until 1pm the other day and Ao and I walked out and he was outside waiting for an Uber to go work

The GF thing is definitely an issue

It seems she is relatively well off

And that was my main reason for saying no to loan

I wanted him to look stupid in front of her that he can't afford to move into an apartment

Only way he may learn

I said to Ao if he was doing everything right and needed to borrow money like that, it would make me happy to do that, to be able to do that as a parent

Did he reply?
Yeah but he didn't understand what I was saying

My wife will deal with him today

She is pretty close to kicking him out

Coming in September he needs to pay rent
And start paying me back for what I paid for school
Plus my wife said he has to give her at least 1k/mo to save

I will suggest today we tell him he needs to leave by Nov 1st

I won't charge him rent for the next 2 months so he can save for an apartment

We aren't doing him any good letting him live with us

And he certainly doesn't appreciate it

Maybe take his rent and use that to give some back to him to pay a deposit on a flat?

Don't tell him that is what you are doing... just can't imagine him saving money... it's almost like he wants to be broke, so he has to stay...

I will do that for the money he needs to start paying me back for what I spent on Uni/apartment

I will keep it and not tell him
When he enrolls in Culinary school, I will give it back to him to pay for Culinary school

I'm betting you pussy out. And you and Nut will be drinking eggnog around the Christmas tree...🧑‍🎄
Haha
Well I am in Thailand for Xmas

Plus he prefers being with his friends on Xmas than us

I told my wife today we should tell him he needs to leave on Nov 1

But that it is ultimately her call, I told her

But she is utterly disappointed in his time here and wants to kick him out too, maybe even sooner

Why don't you get one of those paramilitary disciplinary organizations that show up at your place at midnight and pull him out of bed? Drive him to Idaho to be reprogrammed. At the least it would bw a great thread to read over the holidays...555

Well that's what we are hoping for April

His only time he doesn't have the lottery exemption for the military draft

And it's the last year he has to do it

So we are hoping he loses the lottery and has to go into the Thai army

My wife is already wavering on kicking Nut out by November 1st

She says because he doesn't know if he will have to leave and go in the Army in April so hard to get an apartment with someone

Also, which goes against everything we been saying about the Army situation, she started talking about him needing to save money so he can pay off people to get out of the lottery!

I told her that brings us to next summer because he will get back to Vancouver beginning of May and start saving money for an apartment

I did the math

He works ar least 55 hours/wk
So makes $4400 before taxes

After taxes about $3500
Plus another $300 in tips, maybe more

So $3800/mo conservatively

I am going to demand we sit down
Go over his income after taxes

If he wants to stay with us

He needs to give

500 rent
500 school payback
200 towards house expenses
1500 savings so he has money to move when he gets back from Thailand in May

That leaves him 1500

More than enough for whatever he wants to do for the month

When my wife had it out with him a few weeks ago he said he wouldn't be happy having to save so much because he works a lot
