That's less than minimum wage in this country..!!

Surely there's places that pay better than that?

20 bucks/hour x 40 is only 800 minus tax?

Not even legal in this country where the min wage is set at $26.40/hr + penalty rates for weekends etc

One thing I always stress to this idiot is he makes shit money for a University graduate

And the only reason he makes any sort of money is because he has to work 60 hours/wk

I told him that I understand that money may have seemed a lot to him, and was, coming from Thailand

But that he has to understand it is crap money for a 25yr old with a degree

Thats the point, you work hard to save
Well especially with the opportunity he was given to live with us with no expenses

And he blew it

I told my wife when I got my 1st job(I was a bit younger 22yrs old)

After bills/rent(which he didn't have) I would have some money to have fun but not much

As I mapped out above
Even if he has to adhere to that budget

He'd still have about $1500/mo to do whatever he wanted

I don't understand how that isn't enough

Kids these days are just not the same, we worked our butts off when young to get in front.

Our industry really struggles with the youngsters being lazy.

The younger generation of workers do not provide the same quality of service that we did in our jobs. I've noticed they lack communication skills. Even with the ability to text. They do not respond to time sensitive replies. Seems like a lower intelligence.

Dealing with this and a Thai wife can be frustrating

She doesn't want to talk about this stuff, she gets cranky

Her solution is not dealing with it then blowing up and yelling and screaming at him

So I just flatly said he has 2 options

Move out by November 1st, he won't have to pay rent for next 2 months so can put towards and apartment
(Still will need to start paying back his school $500/mo)

Or we sit down Saturday
His 2 prior pay slips
His credit card statements(I think he may have 2 CC)

And we set that scrict budget above
(I forgot to add $300/mo to pay off CC)

We go over how much he makes per month after taxes
What he will have to pay and what he will have leftover for his own use

Do you think he'd share his credit card statement with you... so you can see where it all goes?

I'd never have let my dad have seen that... 55

I wouldn't actually look at the transactions

Would just look at the balances

It still his business what he is spending things on

I honestly don't care what he is spending it on
Just that he keeps spending it!

This last time Nut asked me to borrow the $2k

He asked me to not tell his Mom
Which is something he does and something I used to agree to
Because my wife goes nuclear and I thought we could solve things without her going crazy

And this last time I initially told my wife but made her promise not to say anything

But then I decided I don't want that relationship with Nut
It hasn't done any good....

So I don't want him coming to me outside his Mom

Now I only will not tell my wife about the time he took our money for a passport and never got it
When I caught him in that lie, I made him pay me back and didn't tell his Mom

Honestly if I ever told her, she would probably disown him

So I will keep that one to myself

You guys keep bitching and moaning about the younger generation, but you're the ones who raised them 🤣
I think the younger generation is fine

I work with so many of them
Just like us, a bunch of good ones and some bad ones

But I do think WFH does no good for them at all

Man....that smacks of desperation.
Sure he doesn't have some sort of habit.... gambling even?
No this was many years ago before covid

He needed a passport to go to Malaysia for his sport

We gave him the money but the trip got canceled and he never got the passport
And lied and acted like he still went to Malaysia

I caught it because he was saying he lost that passport
We needed it for his PR application
His Grandmon spent days looking for it

He finally had to admit to me he never got the passport

He paid me back and I agreed not to tell his Mom
