Thai houses - your photos

here we go

as title suggests, pics of houses in Thailand

I've been biking around (Chanthaburi) looking at some new/recent builds, and some of those pics to follow

Big regional differences, few of the 'traditional' pole style wooden houses here, even the old ones tend to be on ground level, and with the local history there's lots of influences with the cultural mixes, Chinese (Shon/Shong were here first, not Han as in some other areas of the country), bordering on Cambo, and the French occupation all left their marks

Start close to home with a new one - this one built 'on spec about 150m from where we live; and for sale at $2 million. Small corner section, 3bdr . . .

See lots in this style - about 6km from Chan city there's a new subdivision full of them, house and land packages at 1.49 million baht (includes whiteware!)

I like this one, been empty for years, a few km from town, elevated location with great rural views

'lots of potential' in real estate speak

Two examples of wooden architecture in Chanthaburi; first a resort chalet at Paknam Khaem Nu, second a house in Phlab.

2009 we were living here, Chalong Phuket; if you've been to Big Buddha, you've been past
Told they cost under 500,000 baht each to build/furnish, paid for themselves by now we were paying 8500 a month, last year they (six on site) rented at 16,000 baht month

Nice and cheap too. You certainly get a good bang for your buck in LOS in more ways than one!
