Thailand Pass

I just received my Pass or rather a QR code; having applied just before they introduced the tracking number system. I have only the British NHS letter, with a bar code, confirming my doses, plus a downloaded 30 day cert. which has a QR code but for domestic use and no way to get a passport number added. I had purchased AXA Sawadee insurance, booked a 1 night 2 day quarantine package for £105 through Agoda and received the hotel ASQ program confirmation. Though I had a flight booking, they only asked what flight I was arriving on and listed the transfer on route, but in a listed country. All copies I sent were in jpeg, not pdf, and I did not use hotmail / msn as was advised against on the application. The airline has sent a lot of travel info and stipulated using FFP2 type masks, no cloth and no valves which came as a surprise.

Not too bothered about booze outside as long as I can buy a bottle for a night cap, but I might have entertained a stay in Bay Saray and the occasional run into Patts, atm doing a bit of touring Kanchanaburi, Phetchaburi for sea food and around my Thai Missis place up North; she has had 2 shots ,Sinovac and Astra, (I've had a booster too), she complained they gave her and the family a big appetite for days!

Well I arrived: Heathrow checked my Thai Pass, Fit to Fly Test Cert and vaccination cert, the NHS brought out a newer 30day one just in time. The FFP2 mask was comfy and at the next gate the Austrian Airlines were handing them out to those with bog standard masks.

Swiss flight to ZRH was good except now you pay for drinks and snacks, my cheese roll and hot drink £10. Transit gate had 4 booths to check same documents plus hotel booking, best to have printed, as smart phone users were having difficulties. Swiss B777 was on time but almost full, service was good.

Arrival BBK plenty of chairs, sit an have docs checked twice B4 going to special booths for check again, better hard copies, and difficulties for those that did not keep their last boarding pass. Only about 2 deep at immigration but same docs checked, in all it still beat the luggage delivery!

Hotels at gate 10 and seemed smooth for all of them, mine had 2 of us from same flight for the van, off to a drive around test centre at a hospital, much like a McDonalds set up, for PCR, very smart operation, entrance check P.P. next stop chemical phile handed me with my name on already, next stop assistant checks name, opens new swab, up the nose a long way, but quick and into phile, takes inside and comes back to do 2nd passenger.

Citrus hotel all geared and had breakfast and lunch already. Test results expected tomorrow, if negative move out.

Yes Quarky I have the Amari at Don Meung, as I fly North early Tue.
Good Q? S.E. I think the rule is so many seats around on the aircraft, hence the need to show boarding pass, so I presume a yes; I had imagined it would be a single ride for that reason but as we came off same flight, it becomes a chess game. My two Grandchildren in UK just getting over 19, poorly for 5 days but their Mother, my DinL, double Pfizer got it too, but mild, Son triple is clear atm and luckily I had not visited them recently.

think the rule on aircraft is next to you , not in front or behind...

but read a story on Richard Barrow about someone sharing a taxi , had to isolate, even though was negative

I booked my transfer directly with the hotel in Phuket. Full rate for a private transfer so I expect it we it will be just me.

Never assume......

After reading above and I never thought about that, I wouldn't get into a car off a flight with another person now and demand my own car. That would really stuff up my holiday.

I would be confirming with the hotel before going now.

Just checked and confirmed. Thanks for the prompt.

I used AXA Sawadee to get the Thai Pass, but I have a UK insurance as well. This morning I asked reception when will I get test result, they said you have to log into Morchana App. Well I did, needed to scan Pass QR code and it gave me a medium risk orange QR in return, reception says this normal and my test is negative, so I can be released, no docs to prove it; not too happy about orange, looking web search for morchana and The Thaiger video; it places me in the travel catagory but with some symptomatic risks etc; yellow would have been more appropriate!

Update, checked out Citrus and they gave me a copy of the Laboratory Report Result 'UNDETECTABLE' my name and date of birth, no passport #. Another bit to hold onto, just checked in at Amari and both hotels asked for the immigration T.M.6 departure card.

Most hotels I have stay at just take a copy of the P.P, and the entry stamp, TM6 was handed out by the airline; the departure tear off is on the left so one tends to fill that out 1st in the dim aircraft lighting and put the arrival flight number, well I did.
The PCR station also handed out a one time self swab test kit, now I read it, the result needs to be enterred into the Morchana which apparently sends a reminder!! My phone just vibrated onto the floor, despite on silent mode, it still beeps for incoming Hotmail (not yahoo or gmail) most annoying and was a bit of a Halloween moment when in the middle of a dream. I looked around DMK to be sure for my trolley run in morning, I was the only pale face, and not many tanned, all money exchanges shut and most shops, a 7-11 open in T1 ground floor, transfer to BKK bus still seems to run, no idea yet how the new rail link connects but it must be bottom of T2, old ground rail still operates but guess at low schedule; passing roadway still busy; my grab taxi cost only 308 Thb which is not what was on the meter but still about half what they were charging me years back.
