Thailand Pass

The whole process of entry was more efficient this time around, although last time I landed in Phuket. In Bangkok, at the airport they didn't go through all the paperwork. Flashed the Thai Pass on the way to immigration and that was it. I assume it is linked to the passport now, or they aren't checking. PCR test was done immediately on arrival at the hotel and then checked in. 5 hours later, test results were back and all clear to go. Hotel is also more relaxed. Last time most of the food was covered, and plastic gloves every time you go to the buffet. Other than masks, seems back to normal.

Have a great trip Nomad.......

Had friends arrive in Chiang Mai Tue. Perth - Singapore - CM with Singapore air

No PCR at CNX airport. Driver took them to hospital for the PCR and waited for them. Once done off to the hotel.

Next morning they are told the testing is broken you can leave the hotel and we will email you the results.

They got the results Wed night but dumb they just let people go without results.

I was expecting to go to the hospital for the test, and was pleasantly surprised when we went straight to the hotel. The nurse seems to be stationed here all day awaiting arrivals.

That was the same for Ao
She got her result back in about 6-7 hours

Any plans on itinerary?
A few days in Bangkok at the start. (Hopefully not 10 days quarantine). My lady friend has recently bought a new apartment so I would like to see that.
A catch up with a couple of mates in Pattaya who have retired there.
I also want to do some more train travel this time while the old diesels are still running.
Leaving my options open really and I will see how things are when I arrive. I will just be glad to get back after two + years.

With a bit of luck I may be around in that time frame, so perhaps a beer and a game of rugby if our paths cross :D

Not sure why I thought you were a rugby supporter. But even better, an hour with me and you will be a Springbok supporter 5555
Not a big rugby fan but I do enjoy watching the big games. I prefer football really. But any sport in a bar I am happy😊

I have started to get together the things needed for the Thai Pass. Flight confirmation, Covid insurance, vaccine certificate. I will hold off booking the first night hotel and PCR test until after the next review which is due soon.

Today is the big meetings, so there should be changes very soon.

I downloaded the Morchana app but didn't register. Both trips it was never needed or requested.
