Things to do in CM

Aroon Rai been there forever. I can say 15 years maybe more. For me just average but if hungry then why not if not looking for anything fancy

This place has been there for 15 or more years if remember correctly. I ate there once a long long time ago just for convenience, but if hungry and need a fast bite then maybe, but to me there are far better places around and with a better atmosphere vibe. Yeah, not fine dining by all means.
Opened in 1957, so a bit more than 15 years.
Best Northern Thai pork and ginger curry that I have ever eaten. But I can understand that some rate ambiance and atmosphere over great tasting food LOL

I wrote 15 or more years. Wasn’t exact as did not know.
Wasn’t sure if I ate there 15 or 20 years ago but no I didn’t eat there when I first visited CM over 30 years ago. Although I can remember other places I ate at. So for me it was just ok. Ambience isn’t everything. As per your suggestion I will make an effort and go try the out if this world ginger pork. I actually know the people and a kid of theirs from a different situation, not there restaurant. If what I said hit a hard spot with you for what I said, my apologies.

I've added a few of the places mentioned around Old City. Will chuck in whatever else I come across over there. I'll make it public later and share so people can add their own crap and grow it. Might be useful to someone in the future.

There's only one pink kitty paw on there though. Any more? 😋

Aroon Rai, we ate there about 6 years ago, Massaman, Tom Yum Goon and morning glory, disappointed, rated only fair, but as she is a good cook it is difficult for us to rate a place highly.

I like the little Thai restaurant outside the south west corner of Nong Buak Haad public park.

In fact I really like Nong Buak Haad park.

I was specifically talking about the Northern Thai Pork and Ginger curry. And that was just over a month ago, not however many years ago. Anyway, I liked the place 5555

Dwarf guy I think not more than 3-4-5 years before CV-19 if remember correctly and then one day voila he was in the scene as a fixture. But then I don't go into the complex that way as usually cut in other ways and honestly really don't pay attention to them, and so really now only frequent the complex place several times a year now probably about 6-8 times. I know the bar you are talking about and go to. Had some fun in there many times in and out over the years.

I am actually truly missing and sorry to see John's bar close because of Covid and now it is taken over by a foreinger.. Won't go there now thsoe days are over.

I travel enough to Bangkok and such and only go out in CM when friends visit me from the USA or EU. Just don't want to go out all the time as I live a good distance away as well. i was jsut at the complex last Saturday with a visiting friend who just went back home. Teuned out to be 4am getting back sneaking back home on the bike under the dark and no one out on the road to get into any trouble. Anyway, for the small guy you used to be able to see him trucking around town on an electric scooter. He is sort of like their mascot how I see it.
Tia has been there about 13 years , I remember watching them train for the boxing in the afternoon
