I've never ridden a MB bigger than the PCX 160

So don't think I'd be comfortable with such a bigger bike


And I've seen plenty of videos people doing it on simple 125 MB's

So I'd imagine the PCX 160 would be fine

As I mentioned if I did t again I would do it on a Nmax, they are 155 similar to the PCX 160.

I have a Nmax here now on a monthly rent and done a fair few kms on it the past few weeks in the mountains. I have ridden most bikes in that 150 - 160cc rang just find the Nmax is good at cornering and has ABS.

I am completely comfortable on a big bike, its just my preference on the Nmax but if doing a ride up north more on open roads would take the bigger bike.

I've driven the NMAX and think the PCX is a much smoother ride

It kind of sucks for me, I think the NMAX has taken over that class and I find it harder each time to find a newer PCX to rent

Thats because the PCX is crap.............Just kidding.

The ADV 160 is nice, smoother than the Nmax on bumpy roads but doesn't corner as well because you sit up higher.

PSX 160 would be just fine, but do try a bigger one if even just a test drive around the block. You'll actually be surprised how much safer it'll feel.

I crap myself on the wee clicks past 50kmph. They're like shopping trolleys.

I would like to test drive one of the bigger ones


I just love the PCX


I do like the Yamaha Grand Filano if just putting around town with no trips planned

I do like the Yamaha Grand Filano if just putting around town with no trips planned

I enjoy my Forza 300..................which is just a grown up version of the PCX.

Stop at Nasi Jumpru for coffee or meals ... it's pretty good!

Seems to be plenty


PS....I am not looking forward to the hours long photoshoot my wife will do

But she will be with her friend, so hopefully they go off on their own

That was Teddu, best coffee shop in CM

The Giant we went to last week, been a few times and well worth going and not far from Mae Kampong, We did both in a afternoon trip. But the coffee is crap just have a look.

However, the Giant has super steep long roads. If going two up be carful. We put the girls in a pick up at the top and got them down in the car while we rode down solo. If doing it two up down make sure you know how to ride and have a exit plan if your breaks fad.

Yeah I just watched that video before.


My only issue is it would be late April and very hot and the girls would want to do their photoshoot at Mae Kampong before they get all sweaty

Could be hot.....which I don't mind
I've done similar hikes in very hot days


Girls may sit it out though


I can't seem to find pictures/videos if it's a good view of the pagodas from the ground or base though

April would be the worst month to attempt it, too hot and zero visibility from the top due to even light smoke and heat haze.

Yeah we did it, April 14th and it was hot but very doable, well wife got half way up.

It just keeps going and going but well worth it at the top.

Chiang Dao is also a nice place to go. I like to sit in these hot tubs having a cold beer. Tubs are fed by the hot spring.

Its better when the river is higher and the water is up to the tubs.
