Good reason to avoid it then 55... jokes aside, I can always ride there instead... or just walk.

I'm gonna go with Pullman in D1 I think.

They're all more or less guest friendly I assume?
Id say its 50/50.Nomad might know if that one is.

I might contact them.

I've booked with Agoda as pay later with free cancellation. I try not to abuse it, but normally have 2-3 on the go.

I doubt GF at night. Security at the door in the evening and I think there may be some arcane law about it. Probably ways around it, but IDK.

I'm told fooling around is illegal there.... like in Thailand 😋

I'll most likely just have a ST or something one night though, not looking at much P4P anymore, but it'll be there and it'll happen no doubt. Worst case she'll suggest someplace and we'll go with that.

Think I Stayed at the Orchids but I also stayed at the Green Star, whatever, you need to ask if guests allowed as most won't. On way back to hotel from a Jazz club was approached by Lady on scooter but refused as they take you to their hotel and I was unsure of safety.

This cave looks amazing

Tours for $3k

But I don't know if I would be into it
I don't like the damp air in caves and the smell too much

Sungbot is dry and doesn't smell, and it's huge.

I love Vietnam almost as much as Thailand. Vietnam is a very close 2nd for me.
I just don't find the people as playful as Thais

I come away with so many interactions with random Thais smiling or even laughing

Not saying that Vietnamese haven't been nice
Just not as playful.....even stoic

I'm thinking of doing the 4 day one at the end of the year.
If you aren't looking to party or want 3-4 days chill I'd highly suggest Luang Prabang

My 3 year Thailand hiatus likely isn't making it a year
My nephew and his GF want to go and we will go back if they do actually go

And if that happens I am heading back to Luang Prabang for a few days
Maybe even solo so I can really explore it better
