I live in Canada on a WP(could actually be a citizen many years ago)
My wife receives an open work permit for the same duration of my WP and is allowed to work anywhere she wants
She also has to get a Temporary Residents Visa to travel outside Canada and the US.
We just applied for her new TRV and it got approved in 4 days!
Then you look at all the Aussies who I hardly ever see get denied and you have to think all this moaning you hear on these forums on how difficult it is to get a visa is just forum lore.
We got 1 denial for US and 1 for Canada and looking back, although I was upset at the time, she didn't have credentials.
Then you look at the flip side at how you can never get a proper visa in Thailand while our TG's are getting citizenship, medical insurance, pensions.
Also factor in how many mutts would be taking back every girl they bar fined that they didn't know
All I would say to people starting out and in a real relationship.... the visa process to our countries is actually not that bad
