One thing about maps that really amazed me, is that Africa is smaller than it really on world maps..
Because of projecting a 3 demensional image 2 demensional, siberia/china/Australia and US/Canada seem bigger than they really are, and Africa seems smaller..

Love the internet activity map.. Amazing that activity goes down with the sun (bussiness activity).. I would have expected the activity in the West to be higher in the early evening...

I always thought Canada and Russia look smaller when you see them on a 3 dimensional globe? Africa and others near the equator always look similar in size as they are on 2D maps?

Supports my case doesn't it? Africa is bigger than you think... not smaller... ie... those countries further away from the equator are shown in 2D maps as much bigger than they really are... eg. Greenland always looks huge... :grinner:

A little , School french , the place names are mostly in French , but English has been the dominant Language here for a long time , the local patois , Jersey-Norman French is not spoken much
